MyFitClub

Terms

The short version: it is a fitness app for small clubs, it is not a doctor, and you keep what you write.

Draft

MyFitClub is in prototype and these terms have not been through legal review. They describe the intent honestly, but they are not yet a binding agreement and will be replaced before the app is open to the public.

Who can use it

You need to be 16 or over, and you need an account, which a club manager creates or approves. Clubs are invite-only by design: a six-digit code lets you ask to join, and a manager decides.

This is not medical advice

MyFitClub records exercise that you and your club decide on. It does not assess your health, does not know your injuries or conditions, and is not supervision. The plans come from your own club's vote, not from a qualified professional.

Exercise carries risk. Judge for yourself what is sensible, stop if something hurts, and talk to a doctor before starting if you have any reason to. The streak is a game. It is never a reason to train on an injury. That is exactly what the away day and the short version are there for, and using them costs your club nothing.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and use one you do not use elsewhere. Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

One account per person, one club at a time.

What you post

Your logs, notes, proposals and pictures stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them to your club, which is the only way the app can work at all. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content for anything else.

Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and do not use the club's notes to harass anyone. A manager can remove a member from their club; we can close an account that is used to abuse other people.

Being a manager

Managers approve members, edit the plan and can delete the club. Deleting a club is permanent and takes everything in it — every logged day, plan, proposal, vote, kudos and card, for every member. There is no undo and no backup we will restore from. The app asks you to type the club's name first for precisely this reason.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will run the service carefully and keep your data as described in the privacy notice. We will tell you before making a change that loses data.

We do not promise that the service is always available. It runs on one machine, it is a prototype, and it may be down for maintenance or break. Do not rely on it as your only record of anything that matters to you.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury arising from exercise you chose to do, for lost data, or for a club deleted by its own manager. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, because the law does not allow that to be limited.

Ending it

Leave your club or ask us to delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms. If we shut the service down, we will give you notice and a way to take your data with you.

The legal bit

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
